Urban Company Insta Help vs EzyHelpers: which one fits what you need done?

Insta Help gets a helper to your door in about fifteen minutes for a one-hour task. EzyHelpers sends a verified helper you can rebook for a few hours or the whole day, and places live-in, full-time and part-time maids on a monthly salary. Both are useful. They solve different problems, and this page is about telling them apart before you spend money on the wrong one.

Quick answer

So which one should you use?

Use Insta Help when the job is one short task, you want it done in the next half hour, and your pin code is covered. Use EzyHelpers when the job runs into hours or a full day, when you want the same helper again, when it involves cooking a meal or looking after a child or parent, or when you are booking help so often that a part-time or full-time maid on a monthly salary would cost less. Our same-day help is on the instant maid service page; this page is for deciding.

Before you read on

Our interest, stated first

EzyHelpers earns from hourly bookings and from placements. We earn nothing when you book Insta Help, so read what follows knowing that. We have kept the description of Insta Help to what Urban Company has said about it publicly, and we have not printed its price, because that changes and a stale figure would be unfair to them and misleading to you. Where the app is the better answer, this page says so.

Insta Help vs EzyHelpers same-day help vs an EzyHelpers placement

Three products that all get called a maid service. The rows that decide it are arrival time, what work is on offer, who turns up and how you pay.

The Insta Help column reflects what Urban Company has said about the service publicly as of October 2026: a Mumbai pilot in March 2025, a task menu of cleaning, dishes, laundry and meal preparation, arrival in about 15 to 30 minutes inside covered micro-markets. Check the app for the current task list and coverage in your pin code.

The real difference

Dispatch versus a person

Both services send someone to your home. What you are buying is different.

Insta Help sells dispatch. The product is the fifteen minutes between tapping the app and the doorbell, and everything about it, the task menu, the per-booking price, the rotating pool of helpers, exists to make that fast and predictable. That is a real achievement and it is why the service reported crossing 50,000 bookings a day within a year of launch.

EzyHelpers sells a person. For same-day help that means a named helper whose profile you see, who stays for the hours you booked and whom you can ask for again. For a placement it means someone matched to your household, verified, interviewed by you, and paid a monthly salary to run your home the way you want it run.

The practical test is simple. If you could describe what you need as a task, use dispatch. If you would describe it as a role, cook, nanny, the person who keeps the house going, you need a person, and the per-booking model stops fitting however often you tap it.

Credit where it is due

Four situations where Insta Help is the right call

If one of these is you, use the app. We would tell you the same on the phone.

A sink full of dishes at 9pm

Nobody matches a fifteen-minute arrival for a one-hour task. If the job is small, immediate and inside a covered pin code, use Insta Help and do not ring us.

No phone call, no conversation

Everything happens in the app: task, slot, payment, rating. If you want help without speaking to anyone, that is the product built for you.

Help once a fortnight

Occasional use is exactly what a per-booking model is for. A placement would be more helper than your home needs, and we will say so if you call.

Learning your real hours

A month of app bookings tells you how much help your household actually uses. Several families place with us only after doing that sum.

The other side

Six situations where a booked or placed helper works better

These are the reasons families ring us after using an app. None of them are faults in the app; they are jobs a task menu was never meant to cover.

Four hours, not one

A pre-Diwali clean, a kitchen before a dinner for twelve, a house handed back at the end of a lease. Those are half-day and full-day jobs, and a helper booked for the day works through them in order rather than clocking out after a task.

The same helper next week

You see the profile before the booking and can request her again. By the third visit she knows which cupboard the pressure cooker lives in, which is most of what makes help feel easy.

Cooking a meal, not prepping one

A one-day cook in Bangalore makes the meal, serves it and clears the kitchen. Meal preparation on a task menu is chopping and marinating; the cooking is still yours.

Someone to sit with your mother

Care for a child or an elderly parent for an afternoon is a different job from cleaning, and it needs a helper who has done it. It is available as a same-day booking here and is outside what a cleaning task menu offers.

Outside the covered pins

Instant apps run in dense micro-markets. If your society in Sarjapur Road past Wipro, Yelahanka or Bannerghatta Road past Hulimavu shows no coverage, a booked helper still comes, with a longer arrival window.

When the real need is daily

If you are booking help five mornings a week, the per-booking price is paying for dispatch you no longer need. A part-time or full-time placement puts one person on a fixed slot at a monthly salary.

Straight answers

Five Bangalore households, five different answers

Two of them are told to use the app.

Two flatmates in Koramangala, one bathroom, no cooking

Insta Help, or any hourly app. Twice a week, one task, done. A placement is the wrong size.

Couple in Bellandur, both at Ecospace until 7pm, meals from outside

Start with app bookings. If you find yourself booking daily within a month, move to a part-time maid on a fixed morning slot.

Family in Whitefield with a four-year-old and both parents in office

Full-time maid, and separately a nanny if the hours after school are the real gap. The apps are useful here only for the occasional deep clean.

Hosting twenty people on Saturday

A same-day cook and a helper booked for the whole day. An hour of task-based help will not cover a party kitchen.

Parents visiting for three months, mother recovering from a knee surgery

A live-in helper with elder care experience, or a trained attendant from the care team. Neither is an app job.

Same word, different meaning

What verified means in each model

Both use the word. Know what it covers before you decide.

Urban Company verifies a helper once, when she joins the platform, and the app then dispatches whoever is free. You meet the person when she arrives. For a supervised one-hour task that is a reasonable trade.

EzyHelpers runs an Aadhaar and background check on every on-demand helper before her first booking, and shows you the profile before she comes. For a placement the checks go further: police verification, reference calls to the households she worked for, a permanent address on file, and a video interview with you before she joins. If the match fails, the replacement is free.

Neither model removes all risk. The difference is whether you chose the person, and whom you can call afterwards.

Tell us what needs doing and we will say which one you need

If an app is the right size for your household, we would rather say so than sell you a booking. Call, or leave the requirement and we will call back.

Before you ask

Insta Help and EzyHelpers, questions families ask

What people want to know when they call after trying an app.

What is Insta Help by Urban Company?

Insta Help is the on-demand house-help service inside the Urban Company app. It began as a pilot in Mumbai in March 2025 under the name Insta Maids, was renamed Insta Help, and now runs in selected neighbourhoods of Bengaluru and other large cities. A helper arrives in roughly 15 to 30 minutes for a short task such as cleaning, dishes, laundry or meal preparation, and you pay per booking in the app.

Is EzyHelpers an alternative to Insta Help in Bangalore?

For some needs, yes; for others the two are not interchangeable. If you want a one-hour task done in the next half hour, Insta Help or a similar app is the better tool. EzyHelpers offers same-day help booked by the hour or the day with a named, verified helper you can rebook, and it places live-in, full-time and part-time maids. Families who need more than an hour, the same person each time, cooking or care work, or live outside the covered pin codes, are the ones who switch.

How quickly can EzyHelpers send a helper compared with Insta Help?

Insta Help is built around arrival in about 15 to 30 minutes inside its coverage zones. EzyHelpers confirms a same-day slot, and the arrival window depends on where the nearest free verified helper lives. Morning bookings are the quickest to fill. A permanent placement takes three to seven days because the helper is verified, matched and interviewed by you before she starts.

Which is cheaper, Insta Help or a maid from EzyHelpers?

For a single short task, the app is cheaper and we do not quote their rate here because it changes. For help used most days, the comparison flips. A part-time maid on a fixed slot is paid a monthly salary that works out lower per hour than daily per-booking help once you cross roughly 45 to 50 hours a month, and a full-time or live-in maid covers cooking and care work that no hourly booking offers at any price. Our own ranges are on the service pages linked below.

Can I get the same helper every time with EzyHelpers?

Yes. On-demand bookings show you the helper's profile first, and you can ask for her again on the next booking subject to her availability. For a placement, continuity is the whole product: the same person works with your family on a salary, and if the match fails you get a free replacement.

Does Insta Help offer cooks, nannies or elder care?

Its task menu covers cleaning, dishes, laundry and meal preparation. Cooking a full meal, looking after a child or sitting with an elderly parent are outside that menu. EzyHelpers offers a same-day cook, a babysitter for a few hours and elder companionship as bookings, and places nannies, cooks and elder-care helpers on a monthly basis.

Is my area covered?

Insta Help shows coverage pin by pin inside the app, and it concentrates on dense micro-markets. EzyHelpers serves Bangalore city as a whole for both same-day help and placements; the realistic arrival time and the size of the helper pool vary by area, which the locality pages under /domestic-help-services explain street by street.

Is it safer to book through an app or through an agency?

Both verify, in different ways. Urban Company verifies a helper when she joins the platform. EzyHelpers runs an Aadhaar and background check on every on-demand helper before the first booking, and for placements adds police verification, reference calls to previous employers and a permanent address on file, with a video interview before anyone joins your home. No model removes all risk; the difference is whether you chose the person and whom you call if something goes wrong.
